Secutech Vietnam 2012 – the gateway to Vietnam's dynamic security market

The fifth edition of Secutech Vietnam 2012, an international security and fire safety exhibition and conference, will be held from 22 – 24 August 2012 at the Saigon Exhibition & Convention Center in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.
Co-organised by Messe Frankfurt New Era Business Media Ltd and VIETFAIR, the 2012 show is expected to house 250 booths in 3,000 sqm of exhibition space. Exhibitors will showcase security, fire and safety products.
Mr Parson Lee, Managing Director of Messe Frankfurt New Era Business Media Ltd said: "Secutech Vietnam is the premier platform for product sourcing and networking.  The show has strong support from Vietnamese government organisations, including the Ministry of Public Security – General Department of Technique, Ho Chi Minh City Department of Fire Prevention & Protection and the Ministry of Trade & Industry in Ho Chi Minh City.  This makes the show a "must attend" annual event for local distributors, wholesalers, installers and end-users and we are expecting 5,000 professional visitors." The 2011 show attracted 4,529 visitors from around the world. "There was an 18 percent increase in visitors compared to the previous edition and most Asian countries and regions were represented. I believe Secutech Vietnam 2012 will be another success," added Mr Lee.
Located in the heart of the ASEAN region Vietnam is a potential market with high economic growth.  During 2012, the country’s GDP is expected to increase by 7.5 percent. In addition, each year, the Vietnamese government is investing around USD 3 billion in public security products and equipment. This includes investment in commercial and residential buildings which is leading to a high demand for security and fire safety products and services.
According to the report in A&S Asia, in the southern economic and financial center of Ho Chi Minh City, security vendors have discovered business opportunities in the commercial sector, although competition is fierce. "Vietnam's economy has grown over the last few years. The basic infrastructure is in place, which provides a good foundation to build upon," said Jonathan Sinar, Risk Management Services in Fire Security and Traffic, Xtralis.

Other foreign and local industry experts are similarly optimistic about the nation's long-term potential. Many companies reported impressive 10 to 30 percent revenue growth in 2011. "The security market has much potential here," said Bryan He, Director of Secom. "It is small now in comparison with many other developing markets, but it is maturing really fast." added Mr He.
